Carnival Freedom vs. Carnival Breeze

Both the Freedom and Breeze is doing a southern Caribbean itinerary to Aruba, Curacao, Dominican and Turks next March. The Freedom is going on my DW and my 10th anniversary, but the Breeze is going the next week. I know the Breeze is suppose to be the newest Carnival ship, but it is really the Destiny rebuilt as I understand it. Any suggestion if one ship is better then the other. The prices are within $30 of each other and the stops are the same, except one leaves from Fort Lauderdale and one from Miami.

I am looking at the same itinerary for march 2014, and I am pretty set on then breeze.

Oh, I did not realize. So what is the benefit of one ship vs the other?

wow when we were looking the price difference was a few hundred dollars!! that's why we picked the Freedom over the Breeze for the Southern Caribbean. if it was only $30, I might have picked the Breeze just for the experience

Breeze has the 2.0 upgrades and Freedom currently doesn't.

 

We personally enjoy the thermal suite and t-pool that the Freedom does not have.

 

We ate dinner for my birthday at La Cucina on the Breeze and it was a great experience.

Breeze is newer -- a lot newer, built 2012.

There is no comparison between the Breeze and the Freedom we were on the Freedom in '12 and the Breeze in '13, the Breeze wins. If there is only $30 difference go on the Breeze, I would be willing to pay a couple hundred more if need be. The amenities on the Breeze are worth the difference.

So we have finally decided on the Breeze, as it is a new ship. We are booking today and even may be recruiting 2 more couples both with anniversaries the same week as ours in March.

I think you made the right choice! I agree with PABeachlover, we were on both and although we had a great time on the Freedom, the Breeze had so much more to offer. IMO you will not be disappointed. Have a great cruise.
