Were you in cabin 1044?

no, was that the room you gave up. We were in 1598 (the supposedly obstructed view). NOT. The section that some may consider obstructed is actually extra balcony space not found on other JS balconies. I would even chose that cabin, we loved the elongated balcony.

a person given to prolonged spells of low spirits.

"they're just a bunch of mopes"

Your close. We (being from NYC) use the word, describing ourselves as a mope (lesser - down on our luck) when we say for example, we are going to sit in coach (airplane) with the rest of the mopes. Or here , an interior cabin (being the lesser of the classes, so we are an inside cabin with the rest of the mopes.

Of course, we aren't lesser. Its said as an endearment verse. I would never call someone a mope without including myself in the joke. I use to camp at Sm. Mt. Lake in a double wide. I always use to joke with the kids when were out on our boat or jet skis, and pulling up to restaurants on the lake, that we are all equal on the lake, no one knows we are sleeping in a trailer. lol
