Princess Cruises - Caribbean Advice if possible

Hello All,,

I know this is a P&O forum but also am aware plenty of you have cruised with Princess. Can anyone tell me if we book a Caribbean Cruise inc flights from the uk with Princess, how the flight booking works. Are they direct flights to Fort Lauderdale? Would we be better to find out own flights?

We flew direct from Heathrow to Miami, overnight stay in the Intercontinental then off to the ship about 1pm the next day. I live in the Midlands but the only direct flights close to us were from London. If you go on their website the flight booking programme is very good and shows you the cost and how many transfers if any.

There are daily flights from Mancheter with US Airlines via Philadelphia. Costs around £500.

We have always used Princess flights, Heathrow to Miami direct, overnight in the Intercontinental Hotel Miami, you then get taken by coach to Fort Lauderdale at about 1.00 pm. Only down side is that your flight back to the UK is late afternoon/early evening. Princess do lay on trips (at a cost) before the flights home. One year we went to a shopping mall -spent about 5hours there which gave us time to have a wander round and a nice long lunch. The mall has a cinema and some people went in there for a few hours. They then take you to the airport where you have about 3 hours to wait for your flight. When we were out there last Novenber they didn't do this trip so we opted for the trip to the Everglades which was a morning trip, only problem was that they then took us to the airport and we had about 6 hours to kick our heels there. We did fly out to Fort Lauderdale one year -booking our flights independently. We had to go via Atlanta, we stayed at Fort Lauderdale for a few days before the cruise and flew back from FLL again via Atlanta.
