walking distance from Hampton Inn North Airport

We will be staying at the Hampton Inn Airport North on 12 Ave. in Ft. Lauderdale and I would love to know what restaurants and stores that sell bottled water by the case and wine are within waking distance of the hotel.

If you mean the Hampton Inn Airport North Cruiseport 2301 SW 12th street, yes there is quite a bit within walking distance.

Just across the street is a shopping plaza with a Winn Dixie grocery store, a liquor store, dollar store, Big Lots, Sally Beauty, Radio shack, a couple of clothing stores, a Thai restaurant, sports bar, Subway, a burger place (possibly a Burger King) etc. Next door is a Best Western hotel and beside that is a McDonalds. If you walk to the end of the plaza and cross the major roadway at the traffic light, there is a really good German restaurant called Old Heidleburg.

Just FYI we stayed here on 11/2.......we walked across the street to the shopping center and ate at Slackers Sports Bar. It is a neat place with lots of TV's with all kind of sports on. The tables along the wall have their own individual flat screens and we were able to get ours put on the games we wanted to see.

It's about the only thing in the area, but the food was very good and the place was very clean. I would definately eat there again!

Hope this helps!

This helps a lot as we are meeting family at the hotel pre-cruise and this sounds like a great spot for dinner. Thank you.

Daisyloo, Wow! What a great source of information you are! Thanks so much, you have been a tremendous help.

You are welcome jetstorm. If you have any other questions just ask. We have stayed there 4 times and have 2 more stays booked. The hotel staff have always been friendly and helpful. When you arrive at the hotel and check in, book your shuttle to the port for the next morning. It's complimentary and they run it quite smoothly.

Have fun!
