Iphone in ensenda? how do I turn off data but keep texts and voice calls?

I wish I was one of you who could leave my phone at home but I run several businesses and need my phone to earn the money to pay for this thing. Texts on board and in ensenda are 50 cents out and 15 cents in on Sprint. Calls are like $3 per minute- both on ship-when internationally roaming and in Mexico. Got that.

 

How do you shut off the data on an Iphone? Airplane mode shuts off the text and voice, which I need. I just don't want facebook or another ap to pull down data either on the ship or in mexico

Under settings, then Cellular you want to turn Data Roaming off. This will stop what you are wanting to do when you are outside your home cellular network. If you want to make totally sure, you can also disable Cellular Data on that screen to totally turn off the data portion of your phone.
