afrayedknot Posted November 17, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 17, 2013 I did search this forum but couldn't find it- the time difference between Long Beach and Puerto Vallarta? Been awhile since I sailed there and have forgotten. Seems the ship's clock was different than on land? Thought we changed time more than once... I will be sailing 12/1/13. Thanks, Pam
Rare Keith1010 Posted November 18, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 18, 2013 Puerto Vallarta is on Central time so there is a two hour difference with Long Beach , CA. Most cruise ships go with local time but some go with ships time. Keith

Thanks, Pam LB= Pacific Time, Cabo & Mazatlan=Mountain & Vallarta=Central time. There is no standard for the MR route in recent years. Carnival is rumored to sail with ship's time on Pacific time and stay there for the entire cruise. That would make ship's time 1 hr behind Cabo local and 2 hrs behind Vallarta local. If possible, try to see if anybody on the Carnival board can get you a recent Capers for the MR itinerary. Enjoy!
swedish weave Posted November 18, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 18, 2013 Don't forget daylight saving time can make a difference also. Best bet is to listen to the announcements made on the ship and keep your watch on ship time because each cruise can vary.

4realrod Posted November 20, 2013 #6 Share Posted November 20, 2013 On our Cruise this past January aboard the Splendor, the clocks were set ahead 1 hour so we were behind PV by 1 hour.
gtaylor Posted November 26, 2013 #7 Share Posted November 26, 2013 We just got off the Miracle yesterday. We did PV first for two days, and then back to Cabo. We set the clocks ahead one hour before we got to PV, and we were actually one hour behind while there. Watch said noon and it was 1:00 pm, local time. Back to Cabo no change, so I'll assume that we were in synch, but didn't think to check. Changed back to Pacific time on the way back to Long Beach. gary
