What is the best option for getting from Houston to Galveston for cruise port.

Go to the "departures" board for Gulf departures. Tons of info there. Lots of options.

It's about 70 miles from IAH to Galveston, so cruise line bus transfer is usually your best bet.

 

If you have 4 or more you may be able to arrange a private transfer for less money. I haven't used those so cant recommend one in particular.

I've done a lot of research on this for my upcoming cruise in Jan., and as someone else already mentioned, the bus transportation thru the cruise line, seems to be the most feasible/reasonable-at least for me, as a solo traveler.

(Congrats on your smokeless lifestyle-looks like you have some extra $$$ for cruising now:D.....Perth is on my bucket list to visit one day-looks like a beautiful, progressive city.)

We found a transfer service the doesn't charge for kids three and under, which made our transfer more reasonable than the cruise line.
