peck Posted November 26, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 26, 2013 Just 3 for now,we are sailing on Paradise 14th April. This will be our 1st Carnival cruise and are quite excited about it. Other holidays just don't match up to the anticpation you get with a cruise. Now my questions 1) How quick was embarkation? 2) How quickly did you get ashore in G.C. as I have an excursionr booked for 8.30 and don't want to miss it. (Stingraysailing). 3)How quickly did you disembark so I can make arrangements for a hire car and then go on a tour of Florida. Its all about speed but I should be slowing down for a cruise. Hope you all had a great time. Sent from my GT-P5110 using Forums mobile app

peck Posted November 26, 2013 #5 Share Posted November 26, 2013 How can those questions truly be answered? Too many variables. By telling me their own experience and then I could judge if the answers are helpful. Quite simple really. nickiford Posted November 26, 2013 #6 Share Posted November 26, 2013 Do you recall what additional menu items were available for an additional charge since they don't have a steak house? And were they offered every night or only on certain nights?

The tender is a short one, maybe 5 min. But you will need to be one of the first ones off. Disembarking can vary as well, to many things consider, how long it takes customs to clear the ship, non U.S. Citizens being where they are supposed to be, how many self assist people there are. If you really need to be on and off fast in all three accounts then you might consider FTTF, I am platinum and I was off the ship and in motel room by 0930. GO MIZZOU!!!!!!! Thanks for your reply which has been useful and I will purchase fttf to help me along. We are not US citzens so I will taken immigration into account and book a car a bit later than I orginally thought, around 11.00 am,I can always grab a coffee somewhere if disembarkation is quick. Sent from my GT-P5110 using Forums mobile app Your welcome, hope it helped you some. I think they had all the non U.S. Citizens meet in the Normandy Lounge first thing on the morning, what the did from there I don't know, they very well may have been let off first. If you do get off quick there is a little shopping area right at the port, I know there was an ice cream shop, might be a coffee shop to. GO MIZZOU!!!!!!! I like the MDR food, favorite is prolly lobster and shrimp. We went to the piano bar for tea time but that was it, American Themed. No real favorite bar on this ship, sports bar was one of the worst sports bars I've seen. But I did watch some football there. The welcome aboard show, a country music show called 8 seconds, a talent show with passengers, one more I can't remember the name of. I didn't get the cheers on this cruise but I have in the past, it saved me money when I had it. If you buy it on day one it's $574 for 2 people. GO MIZZOU!!!!!!! eddeb Posted November 27, 2013 Author #12 Share Posted November 27, 2013 As Nitro Mentioned, the boarding in Tampa is usually quite smooth. If you get there between 11 and 12 you probably will get on quickly. We have two dogs and had to get them to the kennel, etc. and were not there til 2 ish... As we are now 1st time platinum we got thru quickly. The tendering in GC is actually quite smooth. My daughter and wife did the Horse ride in the Ocean, had a great time! Debarkation always goes quickly, as they have most of your$$$ and want the next suckers, Oh, I meant cruisers on as quickly as possible. lol just a joke. 2nd and last nite shows are the best. Make sure you visit the Deli daily, they are the best. Ask for the country rolls and you can customize your sandwich any way you like. The Pizza Parlor is open 24/7 and you can also get a great Calzone. Room service is also 24/7, great BLT's every nite, milk, juice, etc. Make sure you tip the room service folks, they need it. As to another posters question, there are no extra fees for food items. I can recommend the items we enjoyed to you if you like. Any More questions please ask. Sent from my GT-P5110 using Forums mobile app You are on the last cruise before drydock - probably won't change anything except perhaps disembarking since there will be no one getting back on after you get off. Is your GC excursion booked with Carnival? If not, you may wont to consider FTTF to get priority tender.

Agree about Tampa port - have sailed out of there a few times since we live 20 minutes away. If you have time and can share some of favorite dishes, that would be great.
