Gardeneroflove Posted November 27, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 27, 2013 I'm attempting to plan our trip, we'll be docking on the Disney Wonder. What's the best way to figure out distance from port to places? We're not bring the carseat, so we'll be walking. So far I'm thinking of Key West Nature Preserve or the aquarium and Astro City Park. We may play at the park, then let dh take dd back to the ship and I go to see the butterflies, depending on time. She still naps so we have to take that into account. Just trying to figure out what's doable within walking distance near port.

Capt_BJ Posted November 29, 2013 #3 Share Posted November 29, 2013 (edited) an overview of the cruise ship parking and the popular downtown area. For scale Duval St is approx. 1.2 miles end to end. IMO the 'bar area' somewhat centers around Sloppy J's. By the time you go south to my label area, Duval has mostly petered out . . . well that may be too strong .. it slows down anyway .. some of my fav' places are down this way. Less crowd. Astute observers may note that the place known as 'Southern Most Point' isn't ..... wanna know why? Edited November 29, 2013 by Capt_BJ
Colorado Kat Posted December 2, 2013 #4 Share Posted December 2, 2013 Doesn't help in planning, but there are lots of free Key West maps when you get on the ground. Little kiosks here and there.

bhopal21 Posted December 10, 2013 #7 Share Posted December 10, 2013 The true Southernmost point in the USA is on Navy property where civilians are not allowed; but you will be so close to it you won't know the difference. Mike:)
Gardeneroflove Posted December 24, 2013 Author #8 Share Posted December 24, 2013 Thanks. We ended up doing the butterfly and aquarium. Key West has been added to my list of ports to stay on the ship for. Butterfly is way NICER in St. Thomas. This one was small and crowded. We ended up doing an excursion through the ship (had obc and gc we had to use), plus with a toddler I didn't want to have to worry about transportation.
