Rare Scrapnana Posted November 30, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2013 Found this article on the CC UK site. It does not mention how much they will be charging solo cruisers but at least they recognize that we are a " fast-growing segment of traveler" in the words of the CEO. http://www.cruisecritic.co.uk/news/news.cfm?ID=5629 Scroll down to "Good News for Solos"
alexandra cruiser Posted November 30, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 30, 2013 but see AMA offering solo cruise discounts for SOME cruises. Also they have solo cabins on some ships. Maybe we can get a list of just river cruises and their solo policy? It would help rather than having to go thru EACH line for details.Or even if they have "sharing room with other solos policy"?Or even links to social media ?
Faith77 Posted November 30, 2013 #3 Share Posted November 30, 2013 I took at Russia river cruise about 8 years ago with Grand Circle travel. This is a 55+ USA company. We went from St. Petersburg (3 nights on the riverboat) to a week cruising the river through the small towns of Russia and ended up doing 3 nights in a Moscow hotel. It was a wonderful trip and a great way to do Russia. Someday I hope to do another river cruise. Faith

Faith77 Posted December 1, 2013 #6 Share Posted December 1, 2013 I thought that Grand Circle did a wonderful job on my river cruise. I wanted for nothing. I lucked out that the river boat I was on was in its first year of operation and was very comfortable. This trip was a real immersion in Russian culture. I think many solo travelers are looking for a decent deal when they travel. And the thing is, the better the deal, the more solo travelers you will find on the trip. At least that has been my experience with my land trips, solo ocean cruises, and my one river cruise. Faith
