2-for-1 deals on the American Queen

Hoping the cruise cognoscenti will answer this one:

 

How does one interpret the pricing when a 2-for-1 deal shows up at your in-box? It's 2-for-1 of what price?

 

I know, this one is for cruise dummies, but dummies want true clarity. Sometimes we must consult for clarity.

I am not an expert on this but the one I looked at it was 2 pax for the price of one

If the fare was $3600 pp that is the total price for 2

 

 

I would however call AQ & clarify:D

Yes, I am aware I can call the American Queen about this, but it's so much more entertaining to get answers from cruise cognoscenti.:D After all, isn't that why you are lurking at this site?

 

So...my inquiry remains. Has anyone taken advantage of 2-for-1, and how did it work in your case??

I booked a 2 for 1 on the Empress a couple of weeks ago, right after the offer came out.

On my invoice, it shows $9590 as the voyage price for 2 pax, LESS $4795 as the special pricing for a net of $4795 for 2 pax, plus port charges. So it is exactly what it says. Be aware that this does not apply to all catagories of stateroom, or all sailings, and ends, I believe, on Dec 31 or when sold out.

Because marketing slight-of-hand is now rampant, I was hoping that was not the case with the American Queen, and you have reassured me by example.
