YORKI1 Posted December 16, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 16, 2013 We are taking our first P&O cruise from Barbados, on the Azura, over New Year. I would like to buy a few bottles of Champagne for consumption in the cabin. Does anyone know how prices compare between the duty free at Gatwick and the one in the cruise terminal at Barbados? Thank you.
sagaris Posted December 16, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 16, 2013 I don't know about champers, but other spirits are cheaper in Barbados. The duty free is only about 5 mins walk from the ship. Molly
Devon Doll Posted December 16, 2013 #3 Share Posted December 16, 2013 In February we shall buy at Gatwick to take on board as last year by the time we got to the ship, checked in etc. the shops in the terminal were shut and as we were sailing that evening we had to order from the ship which took a couple of days to be delivered to the cabin. vizzog Posted December 18, 2013 #4 Share Posted December 18, 2013 I would buy in Gatwick, Barbados good for spirits in the terminal but myself only a wine drinker found that wine in the shops quite expensive $15-25 dollars at least worked out no different from on-board. If I remember sparkling was quite expensive to more choice and quality in duty free at airport.
