silygirl77 Posted December 18, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 18, 2013 I was wondering, does anyone on a Christmas Cruise dress up formally on Christmas night for dinner? I thought it would be fun to dress up for Christmas. I don't mind of people don't dress up. I was wondering if I dressed up, would I be the only one? Ken at the beach Posted December 18, 2013 #4 Share Posted December 18, 2013 We did notice that people seemed to be a little more dressed up than usual last year for Christmas dinner.
luvscruising2007 Posted December 18, 2013 #5 Share Posted December 18, 2013 I have not cruised on Christmas day, but if I were to I would definitely wear something special even if it weren't a formal night. Go for it and dress up for the special day.

We plan on dressing up both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for dinner. I doubt you will be the only one and if by some odd chance you are just remember how fabulous you look and don't worry about it. :)

We were on the Carnival Breeze for Christmas last year, and many people were dressed formally. We certainly did, and we used the opportunity to take many family portraits. I say go for it! I found that yes even if it was not a dedicated Formal night( it was Xmas eve on my cruise) that everyone did dress up beyond casual.. all the guys at least had button down shirts and a themed tie, the ladies had nicer outfits. oh sure there were a few who did the tacky Holiday themed sweatshirt thing and then boasted about the fact, but they really were in the minority
maxs mom Posted December 18, 2013 #10 Share Posted December 18, 2013 We've spent the past seven Christmases on a ship and every single one of them....Christmas was always a formal night. And yes.....almost everyone dresses up for this....and also New Year's Eve especially. I love Christmas on a ship. We will be home for Christmas this year and I'm not going to know what to do! Just got off the Independence for two weeks, but it's not the same as Christmas week. Love it!
