cruisecrasy Posted July 14, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 14, 2005 Have enjoyed dining at lunchtime in another cruiselines alternative restaurant at 1/2 the cost of the evening meal. Does RCCL offer this and if yes am I able to reserve in advance of the cruise, also like another line? Appreciate replies..happy cruisin'!
nanfromatlanta Posted July 14, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 14, 2005 To the best of my knowledge, none of the alternative restaurants are open for lunch. They are open for dinner only. Apparently, there is very little interest in paying for lunch at these restaurants.
worldsbestcandles Posted July 14, 2005 #3 Share Posted July 14, 2005 I have read elsewhere on this board that soemtiems Chops or Prtofinos will eb open for lunch at half price, usually on at sea days....but not on every sailing and what criteria deceides that I have no idea, but I'm hoping they do it on our cruise too.... emilygrace Posted July 14, 2005 #4 Share Posted July 14, 2005 I was just looking over my Compasses from last year's cruise on the Jewel. There was one day that Chops was open for lunch and it was half price. It was the only sea day we had. My disappointment is that the dining room is usually not open for lunch on port days. At least on the cruises that I have been on (all Radiance class ships).
digital_curator Posted July 14, 2005 #5 Share Posted July 14, 2005 Neither Chops nor Portofino offered lunch on our NOS 7 day Eastern Caribbean this past January (the dining room was open some but not all days for lunch). It's a shame, because we might have tried one of the alternative restaurants at that time. We are not interested in going at dinner. We did go to Johnny Rockets one day for lunch. Am I misunderstanding, or did you mean that the dining room (regular dining room) is NOT open for lunch every day, only some days?
gatour Posted July 14, 2005 #7 Share Posted July 14, 2005 RCCL frequently doesn't have at least one of the main dining rooms open during lunch on port days.
wrp96 Posted July 15, 2005 #8 Share Posted July 15, 2005 On my cruises, the main dining room was always open for lunch.
elleluv Posted July 15, 2005 #9 Share Posted July 15, 2005 We were on NOS earlier this year, the dining room was closed for lunch on port days. I'm sure it was because there were so few people on board.
digital_curator Posted July 16, 2005 #10 Share Posted July 16, 2005 Yes, the dining room was NOT open on our January NOS cruise. It was open sea days and the day we landed in San Juan but not for other port stops. I must admit, we were in port for lunch those days so we didn't miss it....
