shipfriend_max Posted December 27, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 27, 2013 hi everyone, we are at Barbados in April 2014, and we start our plannings. Would you recommend a tour with the "Atlantis Submarine"? Help would be appreciated, thank you! :)
gluvsgames Posted December 27, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 27, 2013 we just came back from a Cruise on the Summit. Are you looking to see the shipwreck and turtles? If so we took a take for $7 PP and got to Carlisle Bay and went on a boat ride to see turtles and shipwreck for $20.00 PP. Had an awesome time, There are plenty of taxis waiting to take you back to the ship.

shipfriend_max Posted January 1, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted January 1, 2014 Hi, happy new year!! Thank you all for your replies. :) Are you looking to see the shipwreck and turtles? If so we took a take for $7 PP and got to Carlisle Bay and went on a boat ride to see turtles and shipwreck for $20.00 PP. Had an awesome time, There are plenty of taxis waiting to take you back to the ship. We do not really have any expectations what to see on such a tour. :) But I think it would be great to see some animals, as well as wrecks - but a boat ride from carlisle also sounds interesting and it is reasonally cheaper. And someone in this thread told me that there is not to see so much - so we do not want to waste money...
annieuk Posted January 7, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 7, 2014 We did the trip on Barbados last March. We had a day in Barbados as we were staying on for the next cruise so we thought we'd do a trip on changeover day and really enjoyed the Atlantis Submarine. We were taken by minibus to the Sub Offices. We were given a chat there, a drink of juice and there were toilets if anyone wanted them. Then we went onto a motor boat, quite a large one, to go out to the sub. There were actually two subs and there was a party of school children also on the motor boat who went on one of the subs and our group went on the other. We transferred to the sub, holding on carefully! We each had a window to look out of and pictures of the fish we might see. We did see lots of different fish and also saw the wreck of a ship which was very interesting. There was a good commentary describing everything. We went down about 150ft from memory and travelled a good way along the bottom of the sea. It wasn't at all claustrophobic. We then went back up to the surface and transferred back to the motor boat where we were given rum punch, or juice, and taken back to the sub offices. We were shown pictures that had been taken of each couple when we arrived and could buy them if we wished - no pressure to buy. There were some souvenirs to buy too. Then the minibus took us back to the ship. We enjoyed the trip and it was an interesting way to spend changeover day when some people were leaving and others arriving.
