Artemus Posted December 30, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 30, 2013 I am Diamond level with Caesars Entertainment Total Rewards. I know there is a discount for Total Rewards players with NCL but I was wondering if there are any additional perks once onboard like comped drinks in the casino. Thanks in advance. MB320 Posted January 1, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 1, 2014 As a Diamond, you are probably eligible for a free cruise certificate. I have taken two this way, one on NCL Pearl out of Miami, and another on NCL Breakaway out of NY. My certificates gave me a free inside cabin (may pay for an upgrade) but you have to pay port fees and taxes. Once on board you will have two "Drinks On Us" cards, one for you and one for a guest. These can be used for free drinks anytime you are playing in the casino. In addition, I received some type of treat delivered to my cabin each evening, ie, chocolate covered strawberries, truffles, cookies, etc. from the casino management. I seem to get a mailer about once every other month or so for the free cruise certificate. You need to pick these up in person from either Atlantic City, Las Vegas, or New Orleans on certain dates listed in the mailer. Other CET destinations may offer them as well, but these are the properties I have experience with. A good offer and a lot of fun. On my last cruise, I hit a royal flush on a $1 poker machine for a $4,000 payout. Made the trip very worthwhile.
Artemus Posted January 3, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted January 3, 2014 Thanks, MB, for the info. Glad to know the drinks in the casino will be comped if I decide to cruise NCL. I have gotten those certificates for free cruises but haven't used one yet. Might take a closer look at the free cruise if I get another certificate. Congratulations on your Royal, MB. I just got a Royal yesterday playing in a casino in WV. I was playing a quarter machine and also hit for $4,000. Nice way to start the year. http://s208.photobucket.com/user/Artemus821/media/RoyalCharlesTownSpades_zpsebe4ec04.jpg.html?sort=3&o=
VideoTech Posted January 6, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 6, 2014 Information on NCL's Casinos At Sea (CAS) program can be found here: http://www.ncl.com/freestyle-cruise/casinos-at-sea/players-club Your drinks will not be comp'd until you have played enough to earn 1500 CAS points. At that point you will receive a free drink card good for "House" brands only, no premium or call liquor. Best way to book on NCL is to go through the CAS office (numbers on the webpage) or take one of the offers you receive through your local casino. You can take a CAS offer and ask for an upgrade on it (like from inside to ocean-view, or ocean-view to balcony). You'll have to pay the difference between the offer (comp'd) cabin and the cabin you want. CAS perks really start to kick in after you've reached one of the higher levels, which either means you gamble heavily on your first cruise and then cruise again, or you take several cruises and gamble consistently. Then you'll get offers of comp dinners in the specialty restaurants, goodies delivered to your room day. If you're a consistent gambler on the cruises, you'll also start to get offers from NCL for future cruises. The offers will vary depending on cruise dates and itinerary. Rare Dorhead1230 Posted February 24, 2014 #6 Share Posted February 24, 2014 I know that you posted your question several weeks ago, but I thought I would share just a bit more detail with you on this matter. My BF and I cruised on a TR certificate last summer and are in the process of selecting this summer's cruise on his latest voucher. If you are booking with a TR voucher, you will receive the two drink cards (you do not if booking directly through CAS). However, I do think that you have to book with a voucher to receive the drink cards, not just with the Diamond discount, as we met a couple on the ship who booked with the discount (not a voucher) and did not get drink cards. They also do a little reception right after the ship departs the embarkation port in the casino for all of the casino guests. We had an invitation waiting for us in our cabin. They serve some drinks and canapés, the casino hosts introduce themselves, and then...they open the casino! Shocker! :p We did not receive any of the in-cabin treats that I've seen others mention. Perhaps that varies by ship, or perhaps it's because my BF was Platinum and I was Gold as of our last cruise. He is now Diamond and I am Platinum, so maybe that will be different on our next cruise...either way, the free drinks saved us a bundle (that we spent in the casino anyway ;)). Just to clarify - you do get the drink cards if you book directly through CAS, as long as it's a comped cabin. I just sailed in Dec and received 3 of them in the cabin I booked through CAS. :)

VideoTech Posted February 24, 2014 #9 Share Posted February 24, 2014 Not true. I am told my drink cards will be in my cabin upon arrival Sorry, it's true in relation to the question I was answering: a new cruiser, not booked through CAS, who has not gambled on board as yet. Yes, your card will be waiting for you if you are booked through CAS.
