bwbw80 Posted January 1, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 1, 2014 Looking at booking a cruise for next New Year (Triumph departing Dec 29th). We are not picky on rooms but thinking of getting a balcony room for this sailing. However, with it being in December, is it too cold to enjoy the balcony? Last year our cruise was fairly cool, especially on the last day at sea.
vwrestler171 Posted January 1, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 1, 2014 My last cruise to the caribbean was in Dec and it was perfect weather for us on the balcony. Was around 80+ every day.
Flutie03 Posted January 1, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 1, 2014 My last cruise to the caribbean was in Dec and it was perfect weather for us on the balcony. Was around 80+ every day. Ditto. Loved it. Only night I couldn't enjoy it was final night when we has a storm and rough seas. HazelSmrf Posted January 1, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 1, 2014 You'll be fine, we had an aft balcony on the Triumph in January (ours left from New Orleans) and while it was cool the first and last days of the cruise the other days were warm/hot. sandij Posted January 2, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 2, 2014 We're not even that far south, and it's going to be 82 on Sunday/ Go for the balcony.
shdeep Posted January 2, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 2, 2014 (edited) During the day it was perfect. However, at night (and I spent a lot of time out on our cove balcony) I had to wear a jacket with a hood. I would also wrap my legs in one of the carnival towels. I am a very cold natured person though. It was fine for my husband. Edited January 2, 2014 by shdeep

MicksMom Posted January 2, 2014 #8 Share Posted January 2, 2014 Really depends on the weather. Been twice in Dec & twice in January, all from Galveston. Twice it was perfect balcony weather, once it was too cold to enjoy the entire time. Just off the Triumph on Monday, it was chilly the day we left & the 1st sea day, finally warmed up later that evening. Day in Coz was beautiful, sea day heading back was nice until the sun went down.
