Step by Step Instructions to Cash out OBC via Casino?

Howdy,

I'm usually a big fan of the search function and use it a lot but I can't seem to find specific step by step instructions on how to cash out or draw money from your On Board Account without incurring fee's at the tables in the Casino. I know it has to do with sitting down at a slot machine etc but for the life of me I can't seem to find any postings about it.

Could someone be so kind as to post specific step by step instructions on how this is done. Hopefully I can cut and paste it into a word document to print out and take it with me on our upcoming cruise.

I'm afraid I may have purchased a little too much cruise cash and since it's non refundable I do not want to "donate" money to Carnival. Thanks for your help.

There are two ways

Tell the cashier that you want a cash advance on your folio and you will be charged a 5% fee

When you board the ship tell them you want to set up a cash account. Then when you want a cash advance there is no fee. If you do this make sure that any balance is paid before the last day as you will be called to the desk over the PA.

I don't think the previous poster understood the question.

Go to a slot machine. Insert your S&S card in the slot. Press the button that says load money from S&S account. You will have to set up your card by entering your date of birth and then selecting a 4 digit pin. You will then select the amount you wish to load on the card. When you want to cash out, take your card to the cashier. They will verify the amount and ask you to enter your pin on a pad there. Voila! you are handed your cash.

I just did it on our cruise last month. I was confused, as we never gamble in the casino, so did not know how to set up an account. I found one of the casino crew, asked him how to set up an acct. It was very easy. Then, I asked him what to do when we wanted to cash out. He gave me all the instructions. Then, after he left, I cashed out. It worked great to use up the nonrefundable onboard credit. There was no fee for doing it this way.

After being shown what to do, I realize it was so easy that I wouldn't have needed to get help. Just insert your card and it gives you all the instruction.

Perfect, just what I was looking for, Cruise Critic is awesome, would never cruise without this website.

Thanks again.

Since Carnival reads these boards we will only be able to get away with it for so long.

So true, what I do is start with $50.00 play a couple of rolls then cash out. If you are real lucky you might win on those two rolls. Must admit it has never happened to me but just saying it could.

  • 3 years later...

so does this trick still work in 2017? After a brief hiatus from cruising we're going back 6/2018 on the dream out of Nawllins.

Want to do the cruise cash thing again, worked perfectly way back in 2014 and the convienance of not having to stand in line with gift cards versus buying cruise cash ahead of time is worth it IMHO.

Anyway, just curious as gonna start buying cruise cash here shortly but just want to confirm this little gem still works:

DO NOT WAIT UNTIL MORNING OF DEBARKATION WHEN CASINO IS CLOSED!!! Do this afternoon/evening before.

1. Verify how much OBC you have left on S&S account (In room TV, Kiosk, Guest Service etc)

2. Goto Casino and sit down at a slot machine.

3. Insert your S&S card in the slot.

4. Press the button that says load money from S&S account.

5. Set up your card by entering your date of birth and then selecting a 4 digit pin.

6. Select the amount you wish to load on the card (Unused OBC on S&S Account)

7. Not necessary, but take a pull on the slot, who knows you may get lucky......

8. Remove S&S Card, and walk to Casino Cashier

9. Cashier will verify the amount and ask you to enter your pin on a pad there.

10. Voila! you are handed your cash, get some $1's and $5's to tip porters/cabs etc as you get off ship.

PLEASE STOP “CEASE AND DESIST” do you guys find it necessary to buck the system? Essentially you are showing people how to launder money. “Pre Sease de partooken cum laude magma Carta” I’m calling Carnival and sending them this thread. 1st and final warning. This is illegal. Please remove this thread.
