So....I will just have to ask the question.

I am looking for a beach close to the pier in George Town. We will be with our Granddaughter and just want to swim and do not want to have to take a taxi anywhere.

Last time we were there, we swam with the Stingrays. The rest of the group said they just swam right at the pier. But I can't find any information about that beach.

Can anyone help?

thanks a lot.

There is deep-water snorkelling near the pier, but no beach-type swimming. The closest beach of that type is Seven Mile Beach, which is about a $4-6 pp taxi ride or a $2.50 pp bus ride away.

Thanks for the information. Deep water would be okay. My friend said she has a picture of the area and there are chairs and shade. Trying to find out if this is still there. I thought I'd check with the chamber of tourism.
