Dumb time question...

This is like my 7th cruise so you would think I would have this figured out by now...are the times listed for our stops on ship's time (where we sail from) or island time? I know all of our private excursions are on local time through my contact, but didn't know if I needed to adjust.

Usually always 'Local Time'.

Everything is ship time. If the ship goes to a different time zone, they make announcements and post signs where you get off the ship that you should stay on ship time, because it will leave on time and will not wait for you. :D

Yup, usually local. This is where it is a very good idea to wear a watch as electronics don't always handle the time changes correctly.

Ships stay on the time zone of their embarkation port. They do not change to local time. When in doubt, check the fun times for clarification.

I see that! Upcoming is our 22nd and 23rd cruise with Carnival. I think, by now, I know..............;)

Ships do NOT always stay on the same time as their embarkation port! It is up to the captain on the individual ship to decide which time changes to make. They will announce them during your cruise.

On our cruises to Mexico the time usually changes once by an hour but I am sure that it will be different depending on where in the world you are cruising!

I'm not worried about missing the ship, I'm sure our tour operators will get us back in plenty of time, just wanted to be off at the right time!

On all of my previous cruises, we have always stayed on ship time. Most tour operators will know this and will book accordingly.
