planb Posted January 3, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 3, 2014 So traveling out of the Bayport terminal.. Is it best to get hotel in La Porte or Seabrook? Anyone stay at one and liked it for being close to the port? We fly in the day before and would rather be closer to the port than the airport. TruckerDave Posted January 4, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 4, 2014 Doesn't really matter. One is just north of the port and the other just south of it.
planb Posted January 5, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted January 5, 2014 We are getting an exec. card to take us to hotel and just want a comfortable hotel with maybe breakfast or a grocery store close by. The care rates to either city is within $'s so looking for a hotel. We'll get a taxi for in the morning of the cruise to the pier
sminfiddle Posted January 5, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 5, 2014 I was quoted $5 to $7 a day for parking at Seabrook hotels, but none of the La Porte hotels I called charged anything for parking. I went with a La Porte hotel for the location and the lower rates for comparable rooms as opposed to Seabrook / Clear Lake / Webster. But they all have good hotels and they are learning how to serve the cruising market. ~sent using Cruise Critic app~
jrchvatal Posted January 8, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 8, 2014 You mentioned looking for a grocery store close by. In La Porte at the intersection of Hwy 146 and Fairmont Parkway there is a Kroger grocery store. There are about 3 or 4 hotels within walking distance of the grocery store. There is a Kroger also in Seabrook, but there aren't any hotels close to it.
