MoBay -- on your own??

Not sure we want to go to the beach or do an AI as we are planning that on our other stops. So is there anything we can see/do for cheap? We are still not 100% sure we want to get off the ship but after 2 sea days we might want to step on dry land. So they have shopping around the port that we can wander through? Or can we book a tour once off the ship if we decide we want to do something?

We are thinking of going to the Hip Strip too. Is there any reason to be concerned about normal safety issues? Thanks for your feedback!

That's subjective. We totally enjoy it, but we love Jamaica and the people. We don't have much fear, nor do we let little things intimidate us. It's a very populated area (comparatively) with lots of shops and restaurants. There will be a few people that may be peddling their services or wares, but just smile, say No and continue on. Sometimes if something intrigues us we will enter a store or restaurant. It's all in your attitude and not being afraid of another culture.

It's a city, so keep your money and valuables tucked away, don't flaunt a lot of cash, don't follow someone down an alleyway, etc. but most of all enjoy and soak in all the Jamaica atmosphere, sights and sounds.

Perfect that was the response that I was looking for. Just normal safety stuff even if your were home....just be aware of your surroundings!

Thanks!

You definitely don't want to just get off the ship...there's nothing to see there but this:

It's like an ugly warehouse district.

The building you walk in has "maybe" 5 shops.

It's not your "normal" tourist cruise port. ;)
