Hilton or hilton family hotel in London

We will be in London for three days post cruise in August of this year. We would like to stay in hilton or doubletree so we can use points. Would like to find something close to some of London's attractions, also shopping and nice restaurants. So far I have looked at the doubletree marble arche and doubletree Westminster. Do either of these fit the bill, or do you have any suggestions. I posted about this before, but I can not find it. Thank you for any info you might have.

Was just going to post the same question. We are on the Aug 5 Bristish Isles on the Infinity. Diamond members with Hlton so would like to stay at a Hilton property.

 

Will be checking back. Hilton Park Lane and Wldorf Hilton are two we are looking at.

There is at least one Hilton down by Hyde Park Corner. Big huge one. It's very near Buckingham Palace. It's a fine location.

 

Marble Arch area is fine too. I just stayed up there in December (though at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House). The Marble Arch area is right up at Oxford Street, which is a main street for shopping. Lots of stuff along that, including Selfridges.

We stayed here in August 2013 for a few days surrounding a cruise and liked it alot. It's a 3-minute walk to the Tower Bridge metro station, a 5-minute walk to the Tower of London. There are many restaurants at St. Katharine's Dock, just a 10-minute walk away, or multiple pubs nearby. It's in a business district, so very quiet.

 

When it was time to get to Harwich for our cruise, we took the metro easily to Liverpool Street Station and connected with the train to Harwich. We did the same coming back from the ship after the cruise.

 

We like using public transportation, so this property was a good option for us.

 

Also, note that this property used to be owned by Mint Hotels and so retains a very modern minimalist vibe. The rooms are small but well-appointed with coffee/tea kettles, irons, safes, and an Apple Mac for TV/in-room computer use. Bathrooms are "sleek." Beds are comfortable. They have a very nice (but expensive) rooftop venue with great views of the city. We also appreciated their green exterior walls (e.g. plants).

There is a Hilton Hotel in Paddington, which adjoins the train station. It will give you quick access to Heathrow if needed. Also, it is less crowded than being close to the main attractions. You will be able to get to Madame Tussauds by bus in around 10 minutes by bus. Also a few tour buses goes from Baker St. Not sure if there any tour bused going from Paddington.

I have stayed at both and prefer the Waldorf but both are nice hotels. The Trafalgar is well named being right on the square.

 

Just about any Hilton Family will do given the excellent London public transit system.

We like the Westminster doubletree. Stayed at Hilton Euston which was not over good - rooms very small and not good value. Also stayed at the Hilton Hyde Park which overlooks Kensington Gardens and was ok

In our view the Westminster was good value and excellent location.

On our post cruise, we stayed a couple of nights at the Hilton Tower Bridge, which is very close to the Tower of London and said Tower Bridge. We also used points for this hotel and found it to be excellent.

For us it was in the perfect location for what we wanted to do.

We did the Tower of London one day, walked along the Thames all the way to Parliament and the Eye seeing all the sights along the way, and then took a Thames River cruise back to Tower Bridge, at night, and then back to the hotel.

Most convenient fairly new interior and larger rooms than the rest is the Hilton Trafalgar Square. Have seen the rooms but personally don't stay in Hiltons in London.

We also booked this hotel for September of this year. We also want to walk the Thames and we were wondering how long the walk was to the Eye? Also did you stop at the Borough market and how far was that from the hotel? Were there places to have breakfast around the hotel? And can you tell us how far the underground station was for the hotel? We would very much appreciate any info, to try to figure out our short time in London.

The walk along the Thames from the Hilton London Tower is just a little over 2 miles. It is a beautiful walk. If you're planning a full day of sightseeing prior this may be a little too much, but if you have the time this is a wonderful evening stroll.
