hoss23 Posted January 5, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 5, 2014 Hi: We just booked this hotel for 2 nights February 20 & 21 for our Carnival Freedom Cruise on feb.22. We bid through price line for $95.00 per night, with the total cost being $ 220 for the 2 nights. I have 2 questions. Has anyone ever stayed here before and what are your impressions of the hotel, and 2nd, since they dont have a shuttle to port everglades what would be the cheapest way to get there. We are 2 people right now, but if our friends book the same hotel we will be 4. Thanks for your help.
royalcruz Posted January 5, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 5, 2014 This is about 12 miles from the port and will cost about $35-40 per taxi. Won't you also need a ride from the airport? There is a PeiWei and Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza for dinner down the block.
hoss23 Posted January 6, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted January 6, 2014 Thanks royalcruz, almost forgot we have to get to the hotel from the airport. Is a taxi the best way to go? Also, visited anthony's pizza website near the hotel and it looks pretty good.

DH travels a lot, so we booked with points, therefore, I don't know if you got a good price. We like the Staybridge Suites because there is a kitchenette in every room, so if you don't want to eat out you can cook. If I remember correctly, they also have BBQ's for use. Also, visited anthony's pizza website near the hotel and it looks pretty good. If you can find a shuttle for around $10/person that would definitely be cheaper than a taxi, unless of course all 4 of you and luggage can fit into one taxi. You can call the hotel to see if they work with a shuttle company, or you can check rates with the shuttles at the airport when you get there. Sorry, I don't know which companies go to Plantation. Since you are staying 2 nights, and there isn't that much there within a reasonable walking distance, it might make sense to rent a car from the airport. hoss23 Posted January 8, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted January 8, 2014 Royalcruz thanks for your valuable info. We are going to be the only ones going to the hotel when we arrive. The other couple will be coming the following day. So we will be 4 going to the cruiseport so that might make it less expensive. Did a little online research and came up with a few bids from fll to staybridge. They range from $35 to $60. I will not nit pick over a few dollars, but do you think the 35 fare is a good value compared to a cab? If it is somewhat close then we will reserve the car in advance. Thanks for your help. emandjennsmom Posted January 15, 2014 #7 Share Posted January 15, 2014 I just posted a review of the Staybridge in Plantation here... http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1971830 If you have any questions, feel free to ask. BTW, the pizza place had a 40-50 minute wait on the Friday night we tried to get a table, so it must be good.

Mike $35 would be about what a taxi will cost. A taxi might be a little less or a little more. Just jump in a taxi at the airport...don't worry about reserving a shuttle and waiting and looking for it.
