If you require Cancel For Any Reason or coverage for Pre Existing Conditions, most policies require that you cover the entire trip.

Also it's best that you get coverage from the time you lock your front door until you pull back into the driveway. Just in case your car has mechanical issues or you hit that deer running across the highway.

Thank you!

I just read the thread about someone hitting a deer and missing their cruise...how awful! So would I include the price of our hotel when getting insurance?

If your hotel is not pre-paid AND non-refundable, you need not insure it, just like you don't need to insure your gas, maint. on the car, etc. You only need to insure things you might be asking the insurer to pay for if you had to cancel.

And I 2nd making sure your coverage starts from the moment you walk out the door; policies aren't priced by trip length, so it won't cost any extra.
