moesyk4 Posted January 10, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 10, 2014 Forgive my ignorance, I am not familiar with Miami at all! We stayed there once a few years ago and had a hotel through Hotwire downtown with a great view of the ships, but terrible location for things to do...there was a Burger King and a Rallys across the street, at the Burger King we watched an angry customer hurl a burger behind the counter and the Rallys had at least 10 homeless people sleeping around it. Not fun at night to go out, and during the day, we walked blocks to find a drug store and nothing. We are staying at the B2 Miami this weekend and it's downtown as well, we will be flying in a day early and didn't know if there was anything to walk to? any good, not too expensive restaurants to try? Rare LHT28 Posted January 10, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 10, 2014 looks like it is right across from Bayside Mall not too far to the port entrance you could take the metro mover to Mary Bricknell Village mall where they have lots of eating places
eandj Posted January 10, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 10, 2014 (edited) Did you google map the hotel? You will be about two blocks from Bayside Marketplace. Lots of restaurants (mostly chains there) and small shops. Also you are practically on top of a CVS store on Biscayne Blvd for last min items, soda ,wine etc. You'll be in a safe area and you'll see tons of cruisers out and about day and night. You are minutes from the port. Have a great time. Edited January 10, 2014 by eandj
punkincc Posted January 11, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 11, 2014 Check out some of the shops at Bayside Marketplace. Walk all the way to the back and you will come out on the boat harbor. Very scenic and lots of good restaurants with tables out in the open air. You can book water tours there as well. You can walk to The Adrienne Arsht Performing Arts Center on Biscayne. We saw a show there on a Friday night before our last cruise. The venue where the Miami Heat plays is next door to the Bayside Market if you are into that and they happen to have a game scheduled.
