A few questions - sailing Monday! Help!

We are sailing on the Slendor Monday from NYC to Bahamas. Been awhile since we cruised and so much has changed.

1. We signed up for FTTF but didn't receive anything with it like a pass or voucher- how do they know we are legit? We just get in line and they'll look us up I suppose?

2. If we check our bags with a porter at the pier and our cabin is still TBA, how do the bags get to our room ahead of us with FTTF? Our luggage tags still have TBA on them as of today. Do you think we'll get a cabin assignment before Monday?

3. I'm worried about the weather and what to wear. I've only cruised in the summer and to hot places so I brought summer clothes, sandals, etc. Will people be wearing sandals and summer clothes the first night out of NYC or will they be dressed more like NYC winter weather? I know the deck will be chilly, but I'm thinking more of the casino, dining room, etc.?

4. I thought I read that sometimes the pool slides aren't open the entire time when you cruise in winter, even when we hit Florida. Is that true? If so I'm going to have 2 disappointed little boys with me. Anyone know?

Thanks to anyone that can help me with these questions. Also, if anyone has cruised in winter down to the Bahamas from NYC and has any advice - I'm all ears.

We cruise the Bahamas/Florida run on NCL in November.

The first day down was really cold, as soon as the sun went down we spent our time indoors and not on our aft balcony.

The next day was nicer, but not HOT. The pool was crowded but it was probably shielded from the wind. Walking around in areas where there was shade it was COLD.

Once we got to Florida and Bahamas we were in shorts and sandals all day and night.

Then it took 2 days to cruise back home. The first cruise day was windy and rainy so not a nice day to be in shorts and sandals.

The next day was sunny but cold, but we had an aft-facing balcony that had full sun and no wind so it was nice and toasty on our balcony. WHen I walked to the buffet I saw everyone was wearing sweatshirts and long pants so it must've been cold again in the shady parts of the ship.

I hope you enjoy your cruise. The pools were closed on windy and/or rainy days. Out of the 7 days, I think only 5 days (including 3 port days) where the pool was open.

On that note, I don't think we will ever go on another cruise to Florida/Bahamas from NYC again in the Fall/Winter because of the weather.

Your boarding pass should have the FTTF logo on it. Your luggage tags should have the FTF and FTTF logo on them and you should make sure the porter that takes your luggage knows that you have FTTF so that they can put Priority stickers on your bags. They can look up your actual cabin number to put on your luggage tags.

Just got off the splendor on Sunday. The weather was cold and overcast the entire trip. The kids splash area and slide were NEVER open, the retractable roof over the Lido pool also remained closed. Hopefully you will have better weather but be prepared for cold just in case. The dining room tended to be a little cool and we wished we had sweaters to throw on. On the first night I wore long pants and a long sleeve shirt, didn't think "summer" clothes until about day 3 when we decided we were on vacation and would start dressing like it LOL....even though it was too cold for shorts etc. My kids would wear shorts with a sweatshirt and they hardly ever went out on deck since you couldn't really lay out by the pool and they had no outside activities going on.

when did you book your guarantee cabin, what do you have, inside, oceanview, balcony? also I would love for you to come back and post when you do get your assigned cabin. I looked at this cruise and was considering it because we could drive to the port but decided against it because we wanted a warmer itinerary. I hope you have smooth sailing and get a great cabin :)

Show the porters the FTTF on your tags and they will place another tag on your bags that only they have. I do believe they have a list of the TBA cabins and write the numbers on the tags.

We have had the slides closed on previous cruises due to the winds.

If you already printed your boarding passes you will need to reprint. The new ones will have the FTTF logo on them. They will be on your luggage tags as well.
