Chankanaab

What is the benefit of paying for the ship all inclusive excursion to Chankanaab for $70 pp as opposed to taking a taxi over and paying the $21 entrance fee? We want to just hang out at the beach, snorkel, eat and drink. I definitely want a lounge chair and umbrella too.

Thanks

Forget the ship and do it on your own. You'll save a lot of $$ and time and you won't be stuck if the weather is not cooperating. Look for coupons online for the park they offer some savings: http://www.cozumelinsider.com/index.php?Page=Coupons&LinkCode=CHANKANAAB&From=CHANKANAAB

If you want to swim with dolphins, can you do it on a 'walk up' basis, or does it have to be prebooked????

If you pre-book (direct with the park) you can get a discount. I don't think they offer refunds though if your plans change.
