Port of San Juan Bacardi

Are we mistaken or is there a Bacardi that is exclusive to San Juan? Is that where the Bacardi Factory is located? Thanks Gail

Yes there is. We did it in Dec. We took a Carnival cruise and booked to Island tour and Bacardi distillery threw the ship. You get a tour of the distillery and 2 drink coupons.

If all you want is to go to the Bacardi factory, you can do it much cheaper on your own. We are going to be in San Juan in April and are looking at going to the Bacardi factory. Through the cruise line, you get a city tour and transportation to the Bacardi factory for $45 per person.

On your own, there is no cost to do the tour and you get 2 drink tickets per person. You can take the ferry across the harbor for .50 cents pp, then take a taxi for about $3 pp.

They do sell some high end rum at the Factory. I don't remember if it was just hard to get in the mainland US or hadn't really gotten here yet. I think it was about $125.

Looks like it is 20-30 minutes, depending upon traffic.

You don't drive, you take a ferry to Cantano which runs every 30 minutes and takes maybe 10-15 minutes to cross.

 

You should allow a minimum of 3 hours to get to and from the Factory and do the tour.

My mistake..... IT'S 3.7kM FROM THE WATER TAXI TO THE PLANT, IN OTHER WORDS 2.2 MILES. SORRY
