kidsouttime2cruise Posted January 18, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 18, 2014 Are we mistaken or is there a Bacardi that is exclusive to San Juan? Is that where the Bacardi Factory is located? Thanks Gail
rubberdown Posted January 20, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 20, 2014 Yes there is. We did it in Dec. We took a Carnival cruise and booked to Island tour and Bacardi distillery threw the ship. You get a tour of the distillery and 2 drink coupons.
GoNCruisnFamily Posted January 25, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 25, 2014 If all you want is to go to the Bacardi factory, you can do it much cheaper on your own. We are going to be in San Juan in April and are looking at going to the Bacardi factory. Through the cruise line, you get a city tour and transportation to the Bacardi factory for $45 per person. On your own, there is no cost to do the tour and you get 2 drink tickets per person. You can take the ferry across the harbor for .50 cents pp, then take a taxi for about $3 pp. Here are a few links to read up on it. http://www.casabacardi.org/content.aspx?section=welcome http://www.puertoricodaytrips.com/bacardi-factory-tour/ http://www.puertoricodaytrips.com/catano-ferry/
trish1c Posted January 28, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 28, 2014 They do sell some high end rum at the Factory. I don't remember if it was just hard to get in the mainland US or hadn't really gotten here yet. I think it was about $125.

MDSue Posted February 3, 2014 #7 Share Posted February 3, 2014 how long of a drive is it You don't drive, you take a ferry to Cantano which runs every 30 minutes and takes maybe 10-15 minutes to cross. You should allow a minimum of 3 hours to get to and from the Factory and do the tour.
propwash Posted February 9, 2014 #8 Share Posted February 9, 2014 how long of a drive is it I've read that you take a water taxi across from the ship docks and then a short cab ride or walk about 1/2 mile to the real factory.
mafig Posted February 9, 2014 #9 Share Posted February 9, 2014 It's only a 1/2 mile? We can easily walk that.

My mistake..... IT'S 3.7kM FROM THE WATER TAXI TO THE PLANT, IN OTHER WORDS 2.2 MILES. SORRY Danny

aquashark Posted February 19, 2014 #12 Share Posted February 19, 2014 Is it okay to bring luggage along on the Bacardi tour (the ferry + inside the tour itself)?
