sml3 Posted January 20, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 20, 2014 How far in advance can you find out what pier the ship is stopping at and where can I find that info? Thanks-sorry for the hijack of your thread.

ShipsAhoy425 Posted January 20, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 20, 2014 Apparently I'm confused.. I clicked on the link and I found the date listed that the ship I'm on will be in Cozumel, but does it tell somewhere which port exactly it will be docked at?
MpwdMom Posted January 20, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 20, 2014 We're sailing on the Magic this Sunday, and on Fri., Jan. 31 we'll be at Puerta Maya pier. This is the only pier at Cozumel we've ever been to. http://www.puertamaya.com/port-schedule.aspx
carrieluvsgreg Posted January 20, 2014 #7 Share Posted January 20, 2014 Oh yes, that's correct... It just tells all of the ships in port with you. We've been to Cozumel 7 times and 6 of those we've been at the Puerta Maya pier. The other time was following a hurricane and we docked downtown. I thought carnival always used Puerta Maya, but when we were there in December, we saw a carnival ship downtown as well as two at Puerta Maya. (Where we were docked). WLHyatt Posted January 20, 2014 #8 Share Posted January 20, 2014 We docked downtown during Hurricane Isaac in 2012. If there are less than three Carnival ships in Cozumel on a given day, you'll probably be at Puerta Maya.
crusinpsychRN Posted January 20, 2014 #9 Share Posted January 20, 2014 How far in advance can you find out what pier the ship is stopping at and where can I find that info?Thanks-sorry for the hijack of your thread. http://cozumelinsider.com/cruiseships/ Unfortunately, this site was wrong last week for Paradise. Even the Purser's desk didn't know which pier until a few hours before we docked.
Nursm0m Posted January 21, 2014 #10 Share Posted January 21, 2014 The Magic only docks at Puerta Maya pier as the pier is custom planned for Magic on the "outside" edge Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
bmckim Posted January 21, 2014 #11 Share Posted January 21, 2014 I wonder how accurate that is. 5 ships in Cozumel on 2/14 and no ships at punta maya, especially not the Sunshine which we are on.

WLHyatt Posted January 21, 2014 #15 Share Posted January 21, 2014 I enjoyed Downtown because it was close to the stuff we wanted to do in town that day. The guys with the parrots are fun too. We didn't feel like the folks in the mall that they made us walk through were as pushy as the folks at Carnival's normal pier.
carrieluvsgreg Posted January 21, 2014 #16 Share Posted January 21, 2014 What is the main difference between the two? Location is the main difference. Puerta Maya is not walking distance from town (in my opinion...) the last two trips we've made to Cozumel we've rented a jeep so we could go at our own pace and wherever we wanted, but previously, we always took a cab to town to eat and shop. There are several places near Puerta Maya, as they have really improved the port area in recent years, but most of the stores you hear about in the shopping talk are downtown. carrieluvsgreg Posted January 21, 2014 #20 Share Posted January 21, 2014 now that is a cool link, thanks for posting!! You're welcome! I actually found it by accident. When we sailed to Cozumel last April I was able to find a site that listed all of the ships by pier that would be in port on a certain day, but it was just for Cozumel. When I first posted the link, I thought it was the same site. Then when the OP noted that it only listed the ships, I realized I was in error. However, after I looked again, I realized it was for all ports! I thought it was pretty cool too!
