Tell me about your experience tendering in Santorini on the Jade

We are new to Gold Status and I just read that we will have priority tender as a perk. Does anyone know how you get your tender tickets with priority tendering? Do you get them with your welcome package?

We went to Santorini last year and were tendered. It was an experience due to the water being rather choppy that day!! However it was certainly worth it. We took a trio to Oia and it was fantastic. We are going on a 14 day cruise on the Jade in July and are looking forward to going back to Santorini. We will certainly be going ashore again.

Does anyone know how and when the Jade gives out the tender passes? How long does it typically take to get off of the ship and then up to Fir? Any information would be helpful, because like everyone else, we want off ASAP to go see this beautiful place!

Read the dailies of previous day (just in case) and especially of the day of. There will be info on where and when they start giving out tender tickets - try to be there early, many say that they usually start a bit in advance so they have things rolling at the time given out in the daily.

If you take an NCL excursion, they tender your quickly to Athinos, which is south of where the cable car is located, then they bus you up top. Had a great tour of the island and a winery.

Thanks guys! I think we're going to plan on taking a cab to Oia and then catch one of the later morning buses to get back. We mostly just want to walk around, take pictures, get lunch, etc. We're only there from 8-3.
