We will be on the Ruby for our first B2B on March 1. With the short cruises, I was wondering what passengers that are staying on have to do?

Any info from those of you who have done this this season would be most helpful!

No, you won't have to pack since you have the same cabin. In fact, very often we have not had the same cabin and we only had to pack and take our luggage to our new cabin.

We'll be on the same cruise and doing the same thing. I've read from other cruisers staying on for the next cruise, that we must meet somewhere the morning others are getting off the ship. We will have to go through customs at some time.

We will probably get off when we're permitted and find a grocery or drug store to "restock" before returning to the ship.

We were on a B2B on the Ruby from Jan9-13 and then Jan 13-18. The day before the first cruise ended, we received a letter in our cabin that included our new cruise cards for Part II, as well as a card that read "In transit". The instructions included telling us to meet in one of the dining rooms at 10:20 am where, at a time determined by the FLL Customs and Border Patrol office, we would be escorted off the ship. We were told to ensure we had our OLD cruise card, our NEW cruise card, our PASSPORTS and our IN TRANSIT cards with us. It further instructed that you had the choice to leave the ship any time after regular disembarkation started - HOWEVER YOU WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO REBOARD THE SHIP UNTIL REGULAR EMBARKATION began (11:30ish). If that was your choice, you could embark prior to new pax by showing security your new cruise card and your In Transit card.

We chose to have room service deliver breakfast and just relaxed in our cabin until time to go to the DR (room service is available ONLY for B2B pax on turnaround day-just let your room steward know the night before that is what you want to do so he will leave you the order card). All breakfast areas available that morning were listed on the instructions as well.

We were in the DR approximately 10 minutes when they called us to follow the ship officer off the ship. As we left the ship, our OLD cards were scanned. We walked into the terminal, walked through C&BP, held up our passports, and walked into an area where we had to sit for about 10 minutes until the ship was given the OK for us to return (I think?). We then walked back on board and our NEW cards were scanned with new photos taken. That was it. Bars were open, one pool that I saw and all afternoon activities that are available to new pax were available. Easy peasy! We had let our steward know that we were doing a B2B the 1st day and he told us we didn't need to do any packing. I told him not to worry about taking care of our room that morning because we knew he would be very busy. He left us extra towels the night before, but he did do a full cleaning of our room later in the afternoon.

We just did this 1/13-1/23 back to back on Ruby. It was the easiest most pleasant transition. We did have to change cabins but they moved everything for us. Walked off with the other 321 people doing the same thing and returned back on the Ruby quite quickly. No muster drill for the 2nd half and we were able to get back to the sanctuary to spend another peaceful day. :) With the "In Transit" card to show you could go where ever you like.
