Mrs Miggins Posted January 28, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2014 Taken the plunge and booked Royal Clipper. Two days pre cruise in Rome. Our last three cruises have been with Azamara and have received a lot of useful information and advice from their board. I can see this one is not nearly so active. On advice we have booked a Cat 2 Cabin but we have no cabin number yet. The ship looks great and I am hoping DH with his two 'tin' knees will manage to jump onto the tender if sea is a little choppy. Of course I could always leave him onboard ! Our itinerary is Rome to Rome - it looks like Royal Clipper just repeats this for much of the early summer. A friend was on Star Clipper in the Caribbean last year and really loved it. Hoping for a great cruise.
Jridou Posted January 28, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 28, 2014 We're booked on the August 13th Venice-Rome so I hope you'll come back after your cruise & tell us all about it!
biotech Posted March 1, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 1, 2014 I was on the Royal Clipper in January and loved the ship! It is a different experience than Azamara or Oceania but I plan on booking another trip as soon as I can. This is more of sailing experience rather than just a cruising experience. I have knee replacement and almost no problems getting on and off the tenders. The crew are very adept at helping you so take advantage of their assistance. Wait until they put the sails up for your 1st sail away!
