bamboozel Posted February 3, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 3, 2014 Just got off the Glory on Sunday...Feb.2nd. We did the Eastern Caribbean visiting the port of Nassua, St. Thomas, San Juan and Grand Turk. What a fabulous cruise. We did the same cruise last year. The ship was super. The crew was friendly, the weather was in the 80's each day, and the food was super. The waters were calm all week.;);):):) The new American Feast menu was wonderful! Plenty of food to pick from on the menu. Our waiters was great. We had Henry as our head waiter, Charlie who was always smiling and boy could he dance. Also, we had Eric. Always friendly!!! In Nassua, we stayed on the boat.We have been there many times and really don't like the port. St.Thomas, we took a cab to Megan's Bay. There were five ships in port this day so the beach was a little crowded but we had a great time. A couple of Bushwackers and we were set..lol We also had their delicious pizza. It is soooo good. We enjoyed our day there then headed back to port. We went to Senior Frog and had a drink. What a fun place. San Juan, a wonderful port. One of our favorites along with St. Thomas. We walked around Old Town and visited the stores and looked at all the historic areas. What a beautiful place to visit. We walked for four and a half hours. Grand Turk, is another beautiful port! It's a relaxing beach day. We strolled down to Jack's Shack for a drink. Then spend most of the day at the beach relaxing. Breath taking!!! On the ship, we enjoyed many funny comedy shows. I think her name was Sheila Kay...was she funny. So much to do on the ship. No luck in the casino this time around! Any questions, just ask. rccruiser06 Posted February 3, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 3, 2014 I would love to hear more about the dining room too! We leave soon on the Liberty and will have the new menus. :)
bamboozel Posted February 3, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted February 3, 2014 The new menus are just one page. They offer three or four appetizers, three shared appetizers, about eight entries, also meals from the port which is usually two offered, about eight sides dishes, and then desserts. The desserts offered are three each night along with the choice of pie with ice cream. I ordered an appetizer, calamari each night ( this came in a big dish, which I shared with my husband and one of our table mates. I also had a salad, along with my entree and desserts. You can order whatever you want on the menu. Shrimp cocktail is offered as an appetizer every night. There are no table cloths on the table unless it's elegant night. We didn't mind not having a table cloth on the table on the other nights. We ate in the dining room every night. I had chicken, new york sirloin, lobster, ribs, and pasta dish. My husband tried duck, salmon, shrimp, scallop and calamari dish. There are selections for dinner on the top of the menu and also selections from the grill. Everything we ate in the dining room was delicious. Just remember if you order something you don't like just tell your waiter and he will bring you another entree. There is a big carafe of water on the table. The waiters serve you or you can pour it yourself. Coffee is served with dessert. We had a very positive experience in the dining room. We were seated with a wonderful couple who we truly enjoyed!!! We became immediate friends. I hope this helps answer some of the questions you guys asked! bamboozel Posted February 4, 2014 Author #11 Share Posted February 4, 2014 We were in cabin 8438 balcony aft. It was a great room with no noise from the lido deck above. Last year, we had 8434, another balcony aft cabin. Love the location. It is so easy to get to the Lido deck. We always go with port side cabins. The water temperature for the pools on the ship were cool but once you dipped it was fine. The pool water is salt water.:):o We went to Megan's Bay (St. Thomas) and the water was warm. In Grand Turk the water was cool but so refreshing. Once you got in it was warm. The pool however at Margaritiville was cold.
