modelman Posted February 3, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 3, 2014 It looks like the Veendam will be returning to Bermuda in 2015, just from Boston instead of NYC. Sailings are listed from May 2 through July 4, 2015 so far on HAL's website. http://www.hollandamerica.com/find-cruise-vacation/FindCruises.action?destCode=B&portOfCall=BDA&sourceName=byPort&displayMode=advertising

Iliveinbermuda Posted February 4, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 4, 2014 Its great to see that the Veendam is coming back to Bermuda. Anything that raises the islands profile and brings more tourists is always welcomed.

Rusty Aligator Posted March 13, 2014 #5 Share Posted March 13, 2014 I wonder if the contract ran out for NCL, or did they just stop the run. Seems odd if they quit, just when Bermuda was about to allow the ships to operate the casinos whilst in port. Last time I was in 'muda, I was on the Mardi Gras, or the original Carnivale. islegroove Posted March 14, 2014 #7 Share Posted March 14, 2014 The casino issue was just one reason why they quit. The whole tendering fiasco in St George's was another. It may seem like they quit just before the casinos issue got sorted out, but HAL has to plan for these things 15 to 18 months out and that long ago it really wasn't on the table. blue_water Posted March 14, 2014 #9 Share Posted March 14, 2014 Wow - excellent news! We enjoy land vacations to Bermuda and have docked in the West End and I was hoping they would bring back the Hamilton option as we'd prefer that. Thanks!
