Rare POA1 Posted February 7, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 7, 2014 I was on HAL 's site and read about the self guided art tour. Is that something you can download before you leave home, or do you need one of the ship's iPads? If anyone has downloaded it, do you happen to know if it's iOS only, or are there different versions? I have downloaded the ones from Rotterdam and Noordam, they both play on regular computers and on IOS (IPAD), but I still chose to borrow the MP3 player on board to do the tour. We have done the Noordam tour and it was very nice and informative.

cabinluvn Posted February 7, 2014 #6 Share Posted February 7, 2014 You don't need your iPad. They have iPods at the library with the tour on them. We did the tour and it was awesome! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Rare POA1 Posted February 7, 2014 Author #7 Share Posted February 7, 2014 Thank you both! Does the tour have embedded images in the Audio iBook that change as you progress through the tour, or is it audio only?
Nor'Eastah Posted February 7, 2014 #8 Share Posted February 7, 2014 It's just one static cover image, audio only. I had a heck of time finding this one when I downloaded. The other HAL ship art tours I downloaded show up in my Audiobooks on iTunes while this one is under Podcasts. I enjoy the tours and always learn a lot. Rare POA1 Posted February 7, 2014 Author #9 Share Posted February 7, 2014 Thank you so much. I have an Android phone & I wanted to make sure the Audio Book app wasn't missing anything that would display on an iPhone, iPad, iPod, etc. We're kind of excited about this; especially my brother in law who is quite the art geek. Typhoon1 Posted February 8, 2014 #10 Share Posted February 8, 2014 Don't bother with the download Just go the library and pick up an iPod, it is pre loaded with the art tour file. We have done the tour on several ships, it is a great way to spend a sea day. Call the library first, make sure the librarian will be there, as they have very infrequent hours. Thank you, but I already put it on my phone. Now, instead of just walking around looking at stuff, I can walk around looking at stuff with headphones. Edited February 8, 2014 by POA1
