Fulton parking garage during Mardi Gras.

We are getting ready to book NCL on March2. We are going to stay in Covington , then driving to Fulton Garage to park. We sailed in early Oct. 2014. Stayed in Covington then drove to Fulton garage. The traffic was a NIGHTMARE, it took over 1 hour to get off Interstate to Garage. There was some type of Medical convention going on. If it was that busy for a convention, what will it be like on final week of Mardi Gras? If we had been stuck in a cab it would have cost as much as the Garage. Any body have a comment.:eek:

The parades don't reach downtown until early afternoon, so you should be OK.

Simple - avoid the Interstate. Come accross the Causeway from Covington and DON'T take I-10. Take Airline (US61) east into downtown. Right on Broad, left on Poydras, right on Convention Center Blvd - then on to the port.

You can download an app from one of the local TV stations that will let you track the progress of the parades.

The parades don't start rolling on Sunday until 11:00am. They shouldn't be an issue unless you're planning on getting to the port sometime after 1:00pm.
