Guaranteed Cabin

I only book guranteed cabins. Its always the cheapest price. I book my cruise let them assign me a room. Check and see if I like the room. Then call and see what rooms are available in the same category and based on whats available decide which cabin I like the best. I have never been let down and the price is always reasonable.

Hi, if I have just had my TA switch us from an Inside PR on FOS to a Guaranty Balcony and we don't like the location, do we ask our TA to find us another in the same category, or contact RCI directly. I know I can ask her, but love the info I get on these boards! Thank you.

Contact the TA. If you're booked through them RCI won't talk to you.

We always book guarantee when available....why pay more for the same product?

Why? Because some people value cabin location preferences like:

Either close to or far from stairs/elevators

Not directly beneath the pool deck, or directly beneath the Windjammer, or directly beneath anything else that might cause noise

Higher or lower deck

Midship, Foward, or Aft

etc.

If you don't care about any of this and just want to be on the boat at the lowest price, a guarantee is the way to go

My only experience was with my son and DIL. They booked a OV gty and got a cabin at the very front of the ship that had twin beds that could not be moved together due to the room configuration....it was an odd shaped room.

Thank you Ahect. We will probably be happy with the assigned balcony and would only contact the TA if the cabin had an obstructed view, or??

It's good to know that they allow for room changes now. I tried to do this a few years ago and they wouldn't let me. I had injured my foot and requested to be closer to an elevator, as my guarantee cabin was far forward. I begged and finally they agreed to put me back in the pool for another assignment, but even that was treated like a major favor. I ended up in the furthest forward inside cabin, even worse off.

I am usually very particular about my cabin choice, but for my upcoming Allure cruise I booked a OV balcony gty because of price. This is my first time ever booking a gty cabin and I am very happy with my assignment. Keep watching prices-the category went down $50pp and I was able to get a price drop before final payment.
