RCI Tour to St. John - Departure Time?

I saw that RCI has a tour that basically takes you by boat from the ship to St. John, and comes back 4.5 hours later. We would like to do St. John on our own, and thought that this may be a more efficient way to get there.

 

Can anyone tell me:

1.) Where this boards in relation to the St. Thomas cruise ship dock?

2.) What time it leaves? (I am hoping earlier.)

It might depend on the ship, but the STO3 Self Explore St Johns excursion ($34.00 pp) listed for the Oasis of the Sea says that it departs pierside (Crown Bay) to Cruz Bay in St John's.

 

The departure time is 11:15 AM, which mean it would be back approximately 5:45 PM. The Oasis docks at 10:00, so it does not leave immediately, but shortly after the ship docks.
