mikencarol Posted July 22, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 22, 2005 We have come to love many Maine brews over the years we've visited. Does anyone know if we would be allowed to bring beer purchased in Portland or Bar Harobr on the boat. Don't mind if they stow it for us til we get back to Philly. But if I buy a case, I don't want to have to down it dockside before I board (hic).
Nitemare Posted July 22, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 22, 2005 Most ships let you take beer on board when you embark and/or in ports. To find out the rules for your ship, you might want to ask on your liner's board here at Cruise Critic.
rfische1 Posted July 22, 2005 #3 Share Posted July 22, 2005 At worst they'll stash it for you till the night before your cruise ends. Curiously, which is your favorite? I love them all. Last night at dinner I had a Sebago Boathouse Brown Ale which was great.
kenandlaura06 Posted July 22, 2005 #4 Share Posted July 22, 2005 You can never go wrong with a Gritty's, IMHO!
mikencarol Posted July 23, 2005 Author #5 Share Posted July 23, 2005 Thanks for the replies. I admit, Gritty's is pretty good. As you can tell from the header, I've got a fondness for Sea Dog. Anyone know if they still have a restaurant in South Portland?
nancyfisch Posted July 24, 2005 #6 Share Posted July 24, 2005 I carried 3 six packs on baord from Bar Harbor last time I saied on RCI 2 years ago. They let me carry to my cabin. They had made announcements that it would be delivered to our stateroom the last night of the cruise, but that did not happen. Shipyard Export(Portland) is my favorite
rfische1 Posted July 24, 2005 #7 Share Posted July 24, 2005 Oh boy, you guys are making me thirsty. I too like Grittys. I order something different everytime I eat out. Also like Shipyard, especially Old Thumper.
