cris0716 Did you sign up for the tour on the ship? Do you just go wait in line for your turn or do you have a specific time slot?

We've been to Grand Turk 5x in the past few years and each time my kids do the flowrider. We always just pay when we get to Margaritaville. It is the same exact cost as it is on the ship. Keep in mind that you have to have a minimum of 6 people signed up in order for them to run it. BTW...my last visit a little over a month ago.

We just signed up for it through Carnival this weekend, 6 weeks out from our cruise. Up until then, it was not included on the list of available excursions for our sailing.

If there are not enough people to do the flowrider do they just refund your money? We are almost a year out so we can't book any excursions yet.

I believe the cruise line would cancel the excursion and assuming they will refund the money....not sure if it will be added to the onboard account or refunded back to the credit card used to pay for the excursion.

Just back from our cruise - this was our experience:

As per my previous post, the Flowrider excursion was not available to book with the cruise line (Carnival in our case) until 6 weeks out.

The day before our ship arrived in Grand Turk we received a notice that of 8 people booked, 3 cancelled, so the whole thing was cancelled because they needed 6. :(

When we arrived at GT we got off the ship early anyway and went straight to the Flowrider hut. They were taking bookings but said they would only run it if they had minimum 5. The first time slot was 9am for the one hour body surfing, then 2 more time slots for the 1.5 hours experience which was $10 more. We booked grandson in for the 10:15 slot in the hopes that more would book. They said to return 5 minutes before the start time. They had just 5 so it did go ahead, and 2 of those booked dropped out after about an hour, so for the last 30 minutes there were only 3 of them. Grandson had a blast! :D
