FLL: Downtown or On the Beach?

Hi,

 

What do you all prefer for a one night pre-cruise stay in FLL? Downtown or on the beach?

I prefer downtown, I love the Marriott Hotel and Marina, which would be a 3* downtown.

 

I have also stayed 3* beach zone at the Radisson and enjoyed that as well. But if I had to choose, I would definately choose downtown.

For only 1 night the SE 17th Street area would probably be more convenient. While technically not "downtown" Priceline calls that area "downtown" for some reason.

There's a real neat hotel on Las Olas called the Riverside. It's historic. It is surrounded by lots of great restaurants and shops and is also near a stop for the water taxi. We loved it!

And with a Cheesecake Factory on the ground floor what more could anyone want? ;)

 

Just be aware that there are 2 very distinctive parts to it, a new modern tower, and an old classic/historic building that's not necessarily for everyone.
