Port side has lots more availability on Fantasy upper

I'm booked on the Fantasy for an October cruise. Checking prices today I noticed that the category I'm in, upper deck, OV midship, starboard, has almost no availability (site doesn't show any) whereas the port side has lots of availability. Why might that be?

It could be due to a group booking with close cabin assignments.

Just wondering if more people prefer starboard side. I always thought port was more popular.

On our cruise, Fascination 8/16/14, Empress aft is all but full on port, and all but empty on starboard (we're on port).

 

I assumed it was just random which side got booked first.

That would be my guess as well or a Travel Agency holding a block of rooms together.

Keep in mind that you can only see 10 available cabins when you are price checking. Those that are displayed may just happen to be on one side or the other. It is not indicative of the popularity of port v. starboard.
