I believe it is about $8.00 per minute :eek: Bring you cellphone it should work in most ports.

$8 per minute is pretty hefty. It's my understanding Verizon Wireless will only work in Juneau.

Not sure if the rates on the Star would be the same as the Spirit, but I recall the little sign advertising $5.75/min. Hopefully I remember correctly!

Just checked an old Daily it was $5.95 to US and Canada $6.95 all other places.

Sailed the Spirit first week in July and it was $7.95 per minute. Maybe it makes a difference where the ship is sailing. Our itinerary was inside passage Alaska. Happy Sailing!

This past March on Holland America's Zaandam, I payed $7.95 (US) per minute while at sea, sometime after leaving the port of Cozumel. Expensive yes, but provided me with piece of mind to enjoy the rst of the week.

Last Feb. on the Dawn, had to call out and cost 7.99 a min. Hefty price but not it is really needed to solve a medical problem. It was worth every cent to take care of the problem with a Doctor who knew the history of the situation.

 

Would not call my kids to ask how the weather is back home. :D
