No show at the port question

Hi I know this question has been answered several times, but the search is not working. I have a person that will not be able to go on the cruise with us in 2 weeks, would it be better to take him off the reservation now or just tell them when we get to the port that he will not be showing up. Also he his booked in a room with my 19 year old son, but they are in a connecting room with my 22 year old daughter, so age shouldn't be an issue. I know I will loose his cruise fare, but do they credit the room the taxes and port fees?

If you go on Official website and search for cancellations it states that cancellations 14 days or less no refund except for taxes and fees

15+ days out you lose 75% so you would get 25% plus taxes and fees back.

Forgot to say that if sharing a cabin you would probably be liable for double occupancy fee so may just be able to get taxes back.

Does either your son or daughter have a friend that could come along instead.

 

You will lose everything but the fees and taxes which would probably be under $200.

 

Name changes can be made up until 24 hours prior to sailing as long as one person from the original invoice remains.

But no show works well for you as no change to yours

Don't need to notify as they know who is on board

Thanks everyone for your responses. No, no one will be able to take his place. So I am assuming the easiest thing to do would just go and let them know at the port that he will not be cruising.

Easiest thing would be to call them now and have the port taxes and fees refunded to your credit card. That could potentially be a hassle once on board.

If he ends up being a "no show" you don't get your taxes and fees credited back.
