Carnival Fantasy or Carnival Elation

Both of these ports, Charleston and New Orleans, are within driving distance and I am wondering which of these ships would you choose? Or are they both so old should we bite the bullet and fly to another port? We would really like to save cost and drive but we don't want to get on an old ship and regret it. Any suggestions?

They are the same ship, but I do not believe Elation ever got the waterworks upgrades, so if you have young children looking forward to a slide, it is still at the main pool and require them to be 48" tall. Otherwise, I would decided on the itinerary. EM
