One thing that surprised me is the Liquid Lounge was only open either 3 or 4 nights. like I said on another post there was one night that I could not buy a drink in the ship at 1:40am not a single bar open.

Did you take any pics of your cabin?

I just booked 10128 and would love to hear more about it. PLEASE?

Thanks!

I'm currently working on my review. I think you'll like the room. It's spacious (to me). You're around the corner from the doors leading out to the deck.

It can get loud at night and even during the day...especially if someone doesn't completely shut the door, but it didn't bother me because it wasn't enough to make me miserable & I can sleep through just about anything. :)

Is there anything notably different in the Spa Inside cabins other than the decor & robes/slippers? There was a refridgerator in the cabin, right?

We are booked in 12008 on the Repo Cruise April 6th.

Thanks!!

Nothing special, other than my fridge & elemis products & I liked the slippers

Those are the rooms we are looking at for our December trip on the Sunshine. I'm calling my PVP tomorrow to book and I'd love to hear a little more about your location. Can you answer some quick questions for me?

1. How was the noise level? The open deck above and the big screen outside

the room concern me.

2. Was the ships movement noticeable? We've been in spa rooms on the Dream a couple times and it wasn't too bad but still a lot of movement. We've been in a porthole room on the Elation and will never do the front of a small

boat again.

3. I saw youtube video of an inside room with the beds together as a king

and there was NO room to move around, is it really that bad?

4. Tell me about the Cloud 9 spa saunas/steam rooms, please.

Thanks!

I'm sorry Waynbo...I couldn't find this thread again and..well...I couldn't find it.

1. It wasn't bad to me, but when I'm sleepy, I go to sleep. The noise level was really noticeable when the doors leading to the deck were open.

2. It was noticeable a smidgen. I felt some movement maybe 2 days...and that wasn't consecutive days.

3. That person may have had a cabin on a different deck. I had the king setup and could walk on both sides of my bed with no problems. My room was big...not suite big, but large enough for me.

4. Unfortunately, I can not; I never used them.

Thank you, thank you, and thank you! I really appreciate the information. Glad the noise isn't too bad, even so, my wife could sleep through just about anything so I'm sure it'll be fine. Looking forward to reading your review!

Cheers! Wayne

Love to hear more positive perspectives. We had a great cruise on the Sunshine in January and thought the ship was beautiful. No more crowding or issues than on any other ship we have been on.

We would definitely cruise on the Sunshine again!

The MDR staff we had were fantastic. We had Jose, Joyce, and Mate. They accommodated my gluten free diet fabulously!

Hi- See quote above----

What dining room? Was it YTD, or assigned?

I would love more information

We are sailing next week- 3/9

We have your time dining on both of our cruises and loved it! Some nights we ate at 530...others we didnt make it until 630. Never had to wait...always seated as soon as we walked up.We like the flexibility of YTD.

We did early assigned dining. Gave us more time to have a late night slice of gluten free pizza if we wanted it. haha

We were on this same cruise!

My observations....not enough Serenity space. Not enough good entertainment. Limelight Lounge is way too small to have the comedy club. Didn't like that bingo was scheduled immediately before the shows in the Liquid Lounge, so you had to deal with a crap ton of people leaving bingo while you try to find a decent seat. We were in room 8106....big mistake. There's a crew area right next to that room and they slammed doors all night long, every single night.

But, we had a great time with the Blogger's group and then of course CD Butch is awesome. All in all we had a great vacation and we had fantastic weather up until the last full day as we got closer to Louisiana. Then it was cloudy and cool...back to reality :( lol

We never had any trouble finding deck chairs together and there were six of us. But I do agree the comedy club was way too small and poorly designed! So we basically had to plan our evening around it and get inline to get decent seats. But again, that was ok because we had nothing else to do ;)

I have only been on two cruises but on both of them they had bingo prior to the evening shows. I think they do that to get more people to play???

We were on this same cruise, it was my husband's 1st and my 4th. We overall had a great time. The only thing we had to complain about ( and it's not really a complaint because we still had a blast) The liquid lounge was only open a few nights for dancing, those nights were great, but the other nights the DJ was in the Havana Bar and it seems as though not many people knew about it because it would be so dead back there. If you're the type who likes to go to the club most nights on a cruise, I'd recommend a ship that has a dance club, not just other lounges they use as one.

Other than that we had a great time and due to my husbands crazy dancee moves, we met a lot of great people too :D

Sitting in NOLA...just off the Sunshine...had a fabulous time!! I have been reading reviews on this ship since it came out of dry dock. Went with an open mind and really have only one comment on the ship. Wont say complaint and thats because it didnt effect my vaca. I wasnt a fan of the fact that it was so hard to move from one end of the ship to the other. Other than that it is a beautiful ship!! No complaints at all on the food or service we recieved anywhere and I never saw any buckets.....*gasp* Always found a seat on the decks...never felt anymire crowded than when we sailed on the liberty. Only time we felt any listing was while we were on the Mississippi and I guessing thats while we were making the turns in the river. Was a great ship/cruise and I wouldnt hesitate to book again! I really think she gets a bad rap. Any questions....ask away and I will answer as best I can

This is my first time on this site and I am trying to get an opinion on The Liberty or The Sunshine for my Grammy/granddaughter cruise. I have been on The Liberty and was going to take her on that ship since we usually just do The Sensation for quick getaways. Then I saw the slides and sports thing on The Sunshine and thought she may prefer it so booked ours for April 27. Now I am reading these terrible reviews and am wondering if I should change to The Liberty on May 4. She is 9 years old and loves to meet friends and play all day on the ship. This will be here 5th cruise with me and I want it to be great.

Thanks for your help

We had booked the Sunshine because our friends wanted to sail on a "new" ship. I had read all the negative and I was nervous! But I wasted my energy because we had a great time! I would sail on her again without hesitation. We didnt go down any of the water slides or spend anytime back there but I walked back there to take some pictures and it looked very cool. The kids we spoke to around the ship all said the slides were great! Of course there were a few things I would have changed but isnt that true of everywhere you go?? I honestly think this ship is getting a bad wrap and my experience on her wasnt that much different than when we sailed on the Liberty last year. Go and have a great time with your granddaughter and make sure you come back and let me know what you thought :)

There ARE loungers on deck 3? That is exciting to me, as this is one of our favorite places in the afternoons.

Robin

Sorry, I've been off this thread for awhile.......yes deck 3 on both sides is lined with loungers and hardly anyone ever out there. I'm not a sun lover so I really enjoyed the sounds of the sea in the shade as I read or napped. And every once in awhile the bartenders from the Lobby bar would send a waiter out to see if there was anything that I needed......they took great care of me.

One thing that surprised me is the Liquid Lounge was only open either 3 or 4 nights. like I said on another post there was one night that I could not buy a drink in the ship at 1:40am not a single bar open.

That really surprises me because I was usually in the Casino until after 1am and it was still pretty busy.

"Other than Serenity (which is not very calming given the big screen going all the time) and the midship area of the Lido, there isn't much outdoor space. The entire aft area of the Lido is enclosed and has dark tinted windows, so it feels a bit dark and just doesn't have that come sit here for awhile. There are very few places to just sit and watch the ocean, though deck 3 does have loungers."

I agree with these comments. This ship has a very closed-in feeling. The Serenity area was ALWAYS crowded (although in the mornings, the "crowds" were mostly beach towels and other chair-holding items). We were really looking forward to the large Serenity area, but we were never able to enjoy it. We just didn't feel like hovering over the saved loungers to see if they were abandoned long enough to take over. The staff completely ignored the situation, as usual. We could have been more proactive about claiming space, I guess, but in all, the Serenity area was just not very serene. I think there is just too little common space for the number of passengers on board.

Glad to see another positive review of the Sunshine. I also feel the ship gets a bad wrap - at least on this board - like some folks have a cruiseship grudge or something;)

Also glad to hear you saw no buckets!

Can you share what cabin you stayed in and if you brought children? Would love to get my hands on a Camp Carnival 7-day schedule for the Sunshine before we sail. Did yo visit any of the speciality restaurants?

I'm looking for Sunshine cruisers that travel with children as well! I take my granddaughter and chose this ship for the waterworks area and movies. I can't seem to see anything about these features or camp carnival on here

We were always inline for about the last 10 or 15min of the previous show and three of the nights we were the first people in line. They clear the club and then they let us in so we probably sat 20min or so waiting, which was fine because we usually had a drink. It really wasnt that bad having to arrive early and it was well worth the good seats.

Oh......the one real negative I had an issue with was elevators.........they are so slow as to almost be worthless........they also don't always have lights telling you what floor they are on, and many of them don't ding or give an announcement when the doors open.

The elevators were the same when we were on this ship when it was the Destiny. We found ourselves using the stairs often.
