Beaches in San Juan

We will be in San Juan in November. Family of 5 adults and 5 kids looking for a beach to visit. We would get there around 9, be back by 1:30. Carnival has only one excursion and looks like it really is one to ignore. Reviews are not good at all and no food. Last time I was there, A local took us to El Junque (?) and halfway there informed us we would not get back in time. Took our money anyway. Any help would be appreciated.

I was in PR on a week vacation(non-cruise) with my wife and 9 yr old girl. We are not beach people but there are no beached walkable from the pier. In fact we stayed at Sheraton Old San Juan which is right across the cruise terminal. Our private guide on day 4 took us to Luquillo Beach which was great but far from cruise terminal. You can still do a quick 30 minute visit if you want but not worth that much time.
