Hi-

What excursions are recommended to try when traveling to the Western Caribbean? I will be going to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, Cozumel,Mexico and Casa Maya.

Only been to Cozumel and highly recommend Nachi Cocom beach resort. $55pp includes drinks, food, beach, palapa and pool. Taxi is about $17 for up to 4 people.

At Mexican ports we really enjoy seeing Mayan ruins. They are awesome. I do not know where you are going in Jamaica. We have done tubing and bamboo rafting. Both were great. In Grand Cayman Sting Ray City is neat along with the turtle farm. Hell was too hot.

Have a great cruise.

It might be easier to answer this question if you provided a little information on what type of things that interest you

Age range and/or Activity level

Do you like things that are exciting like ziplining or ATVs?

Do you enjoy quiet beaches or snorkling?

History, culture, tourist landmarks, sightseeing?

Drinking like tequila tour or Reggae Party sail?

Shopping?

Ship sponsored or on your own?

We just returned home yesterday from the Jewel and the Western itinerary was great. In Cozumel we booked the extreme ATVing through the ship and my friends booked the drive your own speedboat. Neither of us had done either and we both loved them. In Belize you have to do something as the port area is really not very nice. We took a water taxi (just outside the port) to Caye Caulker and it was a beautiful little quirky island about 30 minutes from port. We rented snorkels and there is a great reef near by. Others did the cave tubing and also raved about it. In Costa Maya we privately booked at Maya Chan...it's a beautiful little beach all you can drink and eat for 50 dollars. They give your group it's own little palapa (shade hut) with a bed, chairs table ect right along the water front. They have floaty chairs, kayaks, snorkels all included in the price. Pick up and drop off from ship are also included in the price. In Roatan we booked a private driver through Victor Bodden Tours and they were fab! Great driver took us wherever we wanted to go and then to some great places along the way. We played with monkeys, went to a primary school saw amazing views of area and then went to the beach to snorkel the amazing reefs at West Bay beach...price was great only 25 dollars per person for our private airconditioned van or $40 per person if you go with a tour... totally recommend this company. Wherever you go, I'm sure you'll have an amazing time
